DAN RUO · GETTING STARTED

Your first fertility consultation: what to bring

A practical checklist to make more room for useful questions.

A first appointment is a chance to understand the next step. You do not need to arrive with your own diagnosis or a complete treatment plan.

Gather what you already have

Bring dated test reports, a medication list and summaries of previous treatment, if available. Keep original reports together so the clinician can see the dates, units and laboratory reference ranges.

Write down your questions

Start with what matters most to you: the purpose of further tests, possible treatment options, risks, likely timing and costs. Ask which decisions can be made now and which depend on new information.

Separate medical and practical questions

Discuss medical results and treatment decisions with your clinician. Your consultant can help coordinate appointment details, language support and the records requested before a visit.

Before you leave

Ask who to contact for follow-up questions and what you need to do next. If something is unclear, ask for an explanation in words you can understand.
